How to book a comedian for a show?
How do you book a comedian for your next event? Always a great question! There are a few simple steps to start with in order find the perfect fit for your event. The first step is to select a performance date. This is needed to know if you are selecting specific stand up comedians to see if he/she is available on your specific date. Next is to make sure the facility you are having your show is open/available for your date. If a country club, make sure the performance room isn’t rented out to a wedding or corporate function. If a college, make sure some other organization on campus hasn’t rented out the facility. If a corporate event, make sure you have your hotel banquet room reserved, or wherever your show is going to be held. If a comedy club, make sure no other big event is going on in town that night. Next, you need to determine a budget for your event. PC vs. Non-PC Comedy College Market

I think it’s MOST important to make sure that we’re all aware that this is a conversation that has been going on for the better part of a year – and is a hot topic. As the owner of one of the largest suppliers of campus comedy for the last 17 years (and a direct representation to comedian Geoff Keith interviewed for this piece) – it’s a conversation we have on the regular. That flame is only fueled after headlines like this. While the college market ISN’T right for everyone (Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Tracy Morgan, etc.) it is THE PERFECT place for countless others who are willing to evolve within the market and give the market what it needs. Last Comic Standing is Coming!
On July 22, 2015, NBC's Last Comic Standing will be returning to entertain the world with 100 of the top comedians selected to perform. New this year is the addition of judge Norm MacDonald of SNL fame and new host, comedian Anthony Jeselnik which should bring a unique flair to the show with his often times dark/edgy performance style.
