New York Comedian Spotlight: MOODY McCARTHY

Moody McCarthy is a stand-up comedian who lives in New York with his wife and step-dog.  Moody has made numerous TV appearances, highlighted by scintillating sets on The Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Moody was born “Matthew” in Syracuse, NY, into a boisterous household with six siblings.  (Somebody had to get a nickname, and it was him.)  Moody began doing comedy in 1992 after his music and astronaut careers stalled.  He soon distinguished himself as an original and was hired by Syracuse’s top radio show to cover sports and write jokes, two of his loves.  After six years of performing regionally, Moody traded square footage for more comedy opportunities and moved to New York City.

This millennium has been good to Moody: he’s been featured on Last Comic Standing; Star Search (the 2003 reboot); America’s Got Talent; and Gotham Comedy Live.  He’s a regular at some of the best clubs in the land and has performed on three continents.  He’s also worked along side such notables as Chris Rock, Amy Schumer & Jerry Seinfeld.

Moody’s material is described as smart and universal without being trite.  Couple that with a disarming stage presence & in-the-moment chops, you’ll see why he’s earned the admiration of his peers for his ability to “go up cold”, and turn a dormant setting into a lively comedy room.  From pubs to country clubs to corporate outings, he will brighten any event.

Moody McCarthy: few people hate him!

New York Comedian Spotlight: CHRIS MONTY

With over 20 years of stand-up comedy and television under his belt, Chris Monty continues to delight audiences worldwide. His latest high-profile projects include his stand-up comedy special titled “What’s the Worst That Could Happen” (Amazon Prime), Vinyl (HBO), Red Oaks (Amazon Prime), Paul Bart: Mall Cop 2 (Sony Pictures), Kevin Can Wait ( CBS), and Orange is the New Black (Netflix).

In his stand-up, Chris Monty channels a refreshing and unique style of the 1960’s cool funnyman mixed with a modern chic. His unique take on current topics and storytelling are reminiscent of the comics that would keep The Rat Pack in stitches for weeks. He spans generations in that older crowds love his cool, retro style and younger crowds see a cadence that they haven’t seen on stage. It is truly something unique to experience.

Chris’s experience as a stand-up lends itself to his wide-ranging acting work also. He uses his quick improvisational skills and ability to use physical slapstick and timing to enhance his lead and supporting actor roles. Whether on screen or stage, Chris Monty has the chops to make your creative endeavor something to be remembered for months and years to come.
