Josh Alton is a rarity in the world of stand-up comedy: He’s an athlete-turned-comedian.  After playing his final collegiate football game, Alton hung up his cleats and shoulder pads for a microphone and a note pad and began doing stand up comedy. He moved from Des Moines, Iowa to Chicago where he studied improv at the famous Second City Theater and continued doing stand up. Eventually Alton became a regular performer at several Chicago comedy clubs including, the Improv, the Laugh Factory, and Riddles Comedy Club.  Alton was also featured in the stand up comedy documentaries, “Road Dogs” and “American Smartass” and once did a commercial for the AMC Channel.  Now he lives back in Des Moines and tours all over the country, headlining comedy clubs and private events. Alton married the love of his life, and has 2 daughters with her. His wife is a doctor so when he’s not touring he stays at home with his girls. For this reason Alton is considered the ultimate “trophy husband”.

Summit Comedy was formed many moons ago in 1998 by Chuck Johnson, current owner/President.  Chuck Johnson entered the comedy business the day after graduating from Appalachian State University in 1995 where he booked all of the live music and comedy for the university’s club “Legends”.  His first job post college?…..one of comedian Carrot Top’s college agents and booking agent for the comedy club chain The Comedy Zone.  His second job?…..well, in 1998 he formed Summit Comedy, Inc. and he and his team of amazing agents has turned it into one of the Nation’s Largest suppliers of Stand-up Comedy & Comedy Entertainment for Colleges/Universities, Corporate Events, Country Clubs, Cruise ships, Clubs & beyond.
